Bob Thompson has had a wide ranging career in the satellite services business, mainly focused on the mobile services market. He has been General Manager, Maritime and Aeronautical Services at Inmarsat in London. There he led with the launch of the Inmarsat aeronautical satellite services on a global basis. He has served as VP, Business Operations at Constellations Communications, N.V., a narrowband voice and data satellite company, and President of L-3 Communications Satellite Networks Division, maker of VSATs and ground earth stations. At ARINC, he is responsible for the global service provision of all the aeronautical satellite service businesses, including: Inmarsat services, Iridium services and SKYLink broadband services. On any given day, ARINC provides satellite services to approximately 5000 aircraft on a global basis, including airlines, business aircraft and military aircraft.
